Sunburst Projects is dedicated to delivering family support services to families living with HIV/AIDS. Program design focuses on lowering parental stress, reducing isolation, and enhancing parenting skills.
- We focus on the quality of life and not the disease. We strive to ensure that all people living with HIV/AIDS are not subject to discrimination.
- We strive to ensure that all people living with HIV/AIDS have equal access to health care, housing, and other supportive services.
- We strive to provide family support services delivered with flexibility, personalized attention, and cultural sensitivity.
- We recognize that each persons own process is important. We strive to promote client self-sufficiency and empowerment.
- We strive to preserve the family as a unit.

The success of Camp Sunburst and Sunburst Projects programs can largely be attributed to its base of over 200 highly trained volunteers who provide 19,000 hours of service annually.

We offer opportunities for five or six social work and counseling interns from Sacramento State University and Sonoma State University in our family support programs.
